Our cellar reserves are wines of uncommon distinction. Only the best vines, capable of yielding the most noble and concentrated fruit, are selected. A vinification in barriques lends them all the complexity and aging potential worthy of wines for the most special occasions.

GRAPE VARIETY
100% Amigne in the terrassed vineyards of Vétroz (the Valais posseses all 24 hectares planted with this varietal worldwide, 19 of which are in Vétroz).
WINEMAKING
The wine is then vinified and aged on the lees for 18 months in new oak barrels, in the process acquiring its characteristic maturity and exceptional complexity.
TASTING
This is full-bodied amigne showing a robe of "old gold", with a sublime bouquet of quince jelly, honey, whiffs of orange peel reminiscent of cointreau and a touch of vanilla. The palette offers the expressive alchemy of vivacity and a hint of bitterness balanced against an attack that is subtle and suave. Notes of caramel lingering on the finish round off the wine's remarkable aromatic length.
GASTRONOMY
The Mitis will be at its best accompanied by blue cheeses, foie gras or fruit desserts.
HISTORY
The Amigne is an indigenous varietal of the Valais.
ETYMOLOGY
Amigne comes from "Vitis Amoena", or "pleasant grape" in Latin. "Mitis" is our registered trademark, from the Latin adjective for ripe and sweet.
VITICULTURE
Produced in accordance with the requirements of the Charte Grain Noble confidentiel, the Mitis is pressed from Amigne grapes that have been allowed to wilt on the vine. The bunches are harvested with their prized noble rot in the month of December.
TECHNICAL DATA
The Mitis contains 122 g/l natural residual sugars. Acidity is 6.3 g/l and alcohol 14.6% Vol.
CHARTE GRAIN NOBLE
The Mitis is produced in accordance with the requirements of the Charte Grain Noble Confiden Ciel, a charter adopted by the producers of late harvest wines in the Valais.
